About Municipal Archaeology Museum
The Municipal Archeological Museum is situated at Calle Ramón y Cajal, 45. The gallery was established in 1943 and moved to the present site in 1982, where the Roman necropolis of San Anton was found. The last was found in 1967. The City of Cartagena chose to build the new home of the historical center after the disclosure of the necropolis. The chief of the historical center around then was Pedro Antonio San Martin, who was additionally an engineer.
