About Monte Hacho
Monte Hacho is a low mountain that disregards the Spanish city of Ceuta, on the north shore of Africa. Monte Hacho is situated on the Mediterranean drift at the Strait of Gibraltar inverse Gibraltar, and alongside the Rock of Gibraltar is guaranteed by some to be one of the Pillars of Hercules the other contender for the southern column being Jebel Musa. As indicated by the legend Hercules pushed separated the two mountains and made a connection between the Mediterranean and the Atlantic. In established human progress it was known as Mons Abila Mount Abila or Abyla.
Monte Hacho is situated on the Peninsula de Almina and beaten by a stronghold, the Fortaleza de Hacho, which was first worked by the Byzantines, previously being added to by the Arabs, Portuguese and Spanish. It is currently involved by the Spanish armed force. Monte Hacho likewise has a religious community, Ermita de San Antonio, and Monumento del Llano Amarillo which is a landmark to Generalisimo Francisco Franco and the beginning of the Spanish Civil War in North Africa in 1936.
