Hondarribia

Hondarribia is a town situated at the west shore of Bidasoa river's mouth, in Gipuzkoa, in Basque Country, Spain. The border town is sited on a little promontory dealing with Hendaye over the Txingudi bay. A carrier boat makes the experience among the two cities. The metropolis holds an ancient vintage region with partitions and a fort. In addition, Hondarribia features a seaside throughout the Bidasoa from the touristy housing estate Sokoburu in Hendaye, along a mountain known as Jaizkibel supplying a hilly backdrop to the metropolis. A street leads north-east from the seaside region to the Cape Higuer, located on this municipality.

The town harbours the San Sebastian Airport, which serves domestic flights. The population as of 2005 is 15,700 inhabitants. The Hondarribia-Irun plays within the Spanish ladies's basketball league in view that 2003, and it has competed towards European groups several instances. Hondarribia has a rowing crew called Hondarribia Arraun Elkartea, and its boat is characterized by means of its inexperienced shade and its call, “Ama Guadalupekoa”. In 2005 it won “La Bandera de la Concha”, one of the maximum prestigious competitions for Basque rowers.
