Guernica
About Guernica
It is a town in the territory of Biscay, in the Autonomous Community of the Basque Country, Spain.
The town of Guernica is joined in one district with neighboring Lumo, as Gernika-Lumo. The number of inhabitants in the region is 16,224 starting at 2009.
It roused the work of art Guernica by Pablo Picasso.Guernica "Gernika" in Basque and "Gernika-Lumo" authoritatively is known all through the world because of the composition by Pablo Picasso that bears a similar name.
The composition demonstrates the misery and catastrophe that Guernica continued on the 26th of April 1937. On that day, German and Italian aviation based armed forces bombarded Guernica, pulverizing everything except for a couple of structures.
The German and Italian powers were supporting Francisco Franco to oust the Republican government amid the Spanish Civil War.
The city was totally crushed by the besieging and numerous regular citizens lost their lives. Gratefully however, the two most essential images of Guernica, the Biscayan Assembly and the Guernica Tree, both survived
