About Castle of Santa Florentina

The Castle of Santa Florentina is an 11th century medieval manor in Canet de Mar, Catalonia, Spain. It was based on the establishments of an Ancient Roman estate by Guadimir de Canet. In the 16th century, it go under the control of Dimas Muntaner. In 1908, it facilitated King Alfonso XIII, who made the manor's proprietor Ramon de Montaner I Vila tally of Canet. In 1910, the palace was extended and revamped by the pioneer modeler Lluis Domenech I Montaner, and its veneer gained a few figures of grotesqueness by the stone carver Carles Flotats I Galtes.

The magazine Architectural Digest secured the manor as among the "most lovely houses on the planet" in 1998 by virtue of its amicable combination of Gothic and Modernist structures. It is private property and hosts a museum that can be visited by arrangement, and also a yearly celebration of traditional music. Among the museum's accumulations are numerous works by Catalan craftsmen going back to the mid 20th century. In 2015, the palace was chosen as a setting for the 6th period of the dream TV arrangement Game of Thrones.
