About Castle of Capdepera
The Castle of Capdepera is a walled fortification situated in the Spanish district of Capdepera, on the island of Majorca. It is one of the biggest mansions on the island. Its development started in 310, yet in the 14th century it was revamped on the remaining parts of a Muslim town. The Castle of Capdepera is imperative to the island as it was from here that the surrender of Menorca, the island neighboring Majorca in the Balearic archipelago, was cultivated. Ruler James I of Aragon, having vanquished Majorca, chose he required his troops for the future victory of Valencia.
He possible a ploy to bamboozle the Muslims living on Menorca and cause them to surrender. To do this, he requested an expansive number of campfires lit in Capdepera with the goal that they were obvious from the neighboring island. This was to make the Saracen Menorcans trust that a vast armed force had stayed outdoors there and were getting ready to attack Menorca. So, at long last, at this very manor, James I marked the Treaty of Capdepera, through which the Menorcan Muslims were permitted to stay there in accommodation to the King of Aragon under tribute.
