About Almansa
Almansa is a Spanish town and municipality within the province of Albacete, part of the self sufficient network of Castile-La Mancha. The name Almansa stems from the 1/2 manner of the road. The municipality borders with Alicante, Valencia and Murcia. Almansa is famous for its Moros Cristianos pageant from celebrated from the first to the sixth of May. Almansa is built at the foot of a white limestone crag, that is surmounted via a Moorish fort, and rises all of sudden in the midst of a fertile and irrigated simple.
About 1 mile south of the metropolis centre stands an obelisk commemorating the Battle of Almansa fought there at the 25 April 1707 at some stage in the War of Spanish Succession, in which a French, Spanish and Irish navy below the command of duke of Berwick, a herbal son of James II, routed the allied British, Portuguese and Spanishdubious – discuss troops. The Sierra del Mugron is placed inside the Almansa city limits
