It is bordered at the north by using Mieres, on the south by the province of Leon, on the east via Laviana, Caso, and Sobrescobio, and on the west with the aid of Lena. The first traces of human presence inside the place date to the Neolithic and Iron Ages. Despite the excavation of some Roman findings, the contemporary agreement dates probably from the ninth-tenth centuries AD.
The most vital excursion of the municipality is the Humanitarios de San Martin de Moreda, in which pilgrims wear the traditional Asturian apparel of San Antonio de Pineras, at the ultimate Sunday in August and the Pilgrimage of Miralles in Soto on September There are also several cattle festivals in Cabanaquinta, inclusive of one in March the Friday before Saint Joseph's Day, one in honor of the rosary the primary Friday in October, and one in honor of Saint Andrew the 1/3 Friday of November.
Among the natural sights of the vicinity are the ravines of the Pino and Aller rivers, large gorges carved into the foot of the mountains. The municipality also offers a huge form of routes that comply with the paths of the conventional herdsmen from the villages on the foot of the mountains up the slopes.
