Namwon is a town in North Jeolla Province, South Korea. Namwon is set 50 mins from the provincial capital of Jeonju, which is almost three hours away from Seoul. The authentic metropolis flower is Royal Azalea while the town tree is the crape-myrtle and the city chicken is the swallow. Namwon is a small town located just out of doors Jirisan National Park, which has the largest set of mountains on the South Korean Mainland. It also borders the Seomjin River, considered one of South Korea's more prominent rivers.
It is three hours and 15 mins from the Seoul Central City Bus Terminal thru direct bus and approximately one hour from both the U-Square Bus Terminal in Gwangju and the Jeonju Inter City Bus Terminal depending on site visitors. It is known as the City of Love due to the well-known Korean love story of Chunhyang. Gwanghallu Garden is a shrine to this love story. Namwon turned into based in 685 all through the reign of King Sinmun of Silla Kingdom. Namwon County become founded on April 1, 1895.
