Mokpo
About Mokpo
Mokpo is a city in South Jeolla Province, South Korea, located on the southwestern tip of the Korean Peninsula, close to Yudal Mountain. Mokpo has frequent teach service connecting in Daejon to Seoul, and is the terminus for a number of ferry routes serving islands inside the adjoining Yellow Sea and Dadohae National Maritime Park. During the Japanese Occupation 1910–1945, Mokpo served as a vital port for both business ventures and public transportation, because of its location along the sea routes between the Japanese archipelago and the Chinese mainland.
The huge variety of islands surrounding Mokpo has also served as a protecting barrier, making the city less susceptible to high tides and tsunamis. In the occupation era, big residential regions were built to deal with the Japanese colonists, which can be now the city's ancient districts. The stop of World War II and Korea’s independence in 1945 has been chargeable for the town slowly losing its function as a bunch to fundamental authorities businesses and wartime industries. This led to a reduction in the length of Mokpo, that's currently a mid-sized town of the Honam place.
