About Jeonju Hyanggyo
The Jeonju Hyanggyo is a hyanggyo in the beginning mounted at the Gyeonggijeon Shrine site in Jeonju, Korea, someday early within the fifteenth century, for the duration of the Joseon Dynasty 1392 to 1910. Gyeonggijeon Shrine was erected in 1410 so creation of the Jeonju Hyanggyo had to follow someday later. At the time of the Second Japanese Invasion in 1592 the Gyeonggijeon Shrine and the Jeonju Hyanggyo had been completely destroyed.
In 1603 the hyanggyo changed into moved to and rebuilt at its gift Jeonju vicinity. Unlike the more common hyanggyo Jeonhakhumyo fashion described above on the Goheung Hyanggyo, The Jeonju Hyanggyo personnel the much less traditional style of being placed on stage ground. The memorial enshrinement area facilities on the Daeseongjeon Confucian shrine hall within the front, while the instructional place centers on the Myeongyundang that is located the rear. This is an uncommon configuration for a hyanggyo. In all, there are a total of ninety nine rooms at the Jeonju Hyanggyo.
