About Baekdamsa
Baekdamsa is a Buddhist temple in Inje County, Gangwon province, South Korea. It was in the beginning built inside the seventh century, but due to conflict and natural disasters have been rebuilt numerous times considering that then. The gift model was completed in 1957. Additionally, the name has also changed over the years. Originally referred to as Hangyesa, the new call displays the 100 pits from Daecheongbong Peak to the temple.
Baekdamsa Temple becomes established by using Ven. Jajang Yulsa in 647 in Hangye-ri beneath the call Hangyesa Temple. After its founding, the name changed numerous times to Unheungsa, Samwonsa, Seongusa and Yeongchwisa. Finally in 1783, Choe Bung and Ven. Undam renamed it Baekdamsa Temple, the call nonetheless used nowadays, actually which means Hundred Pool Temple. This is because 100 natural pools are claimed to be near the temple fed through water from Daecheongbong Peak. Situated in the far flung place of Inner Seorak, Baekdamsa Temple is very secluded from the secular international, making it an herbal area for Buddhist practice.
