Rietvlei Nature Reserve

On the edges of Pretoria, Rietvlei Nature Reserve offers a quiet get away to nature and incredible diversion seeing not as much as a 20-minute drive from the downtown area.

The dam was worked amid the Great Depression, and now constitutes 15% of Pretoria's water supply and in addition supporting a scope of highveld amusement that was reintroduced to the territory.

The hold incorporates 3,800 hectares of moving slopes, sprawling prairie, all around checked streets, and obviously, the dam itself, where fishermen can cast their lines from the northern and western shores. Different features incorporate the lion visits, climbing and steed trails, fledgling shrouds, a well known tea cultivate, and a play area to keep the children engaged.

Eland, red hartebeest, bison, blesbok, waterbuck, zebra, dark wildebeest, hippo, and even cheetah are among the creatures found here, and fortunate guests may even recognize the occupant white rhinos. Birders should keep a post for the humorous secretary fowls, and the blue crane, South Africa's national fledgling, and a rearing pair of fish falcons.
