Montagu Pass

It is arranged in the Western Cape region of South Africa, on the unsigned street amongst Herold and George. It parallels the more current Outeniqua Pass assigned the N9/N12The pass was named after John Montagu, Colonial Secretary of the Cape in the 1840s, whose excitement for good streets brought about the primary aggressive program of development in Southern Africa.

This pass was harmed by surges in November 1996, and was shut for the vast majority of 1997. It has been repaired and is currently open. Driving time of around one hour will take one over the Outeniqua Mountains, through the town of Herold to the N9.
