About Klipriviersberg Nature Reserve
The Johannesburg Zoo is a 55-hectare zoo in Johannesburg, South Africa. The zoo is committed to the convenience, advancement, cultivation, and restorative care of wild creatures, and houses around 2000 people of 320 species.
Set up in 1904, it has generally been possessed and worked by the Johannesburg City Council. Notwithstanding, it has been transformed into an enterprise and enrolled as a Section 21 non-benefit organisation.
The Johannesburg Zoo has its beginnings as a major aspect of the Braamfontein cultivate which was possessed by Hermann Eckstein.He had purchased the homestead to investigate it for minerals and when he neglected to discover any, the land was changed over as a timber estate in 1891 called Sachsenwald after Otto von Bismarck.
