About St. Jamess Parish Church
The Church of St. James was worked by Jesuits in the vicinity of 1613 and 1615 on a site already possessed by a Gothic church remaining beside the Jesuit cloister which housed Ljubljana's first school of religious philosophy, rationality, prescription and music. The Jesuits' initial Baroque corridor church was altogether reconstructed around 1701. Its new sacred place and statues were etched in the vicinity of 1728 and 1732 by Francesco Robba, who lived in the region of the congregation.
After the tremor of 1895 the congregation's two towers must be pulled down and a solitary new steeple the most elevated in Ljubljana was worked in their place. The stone sacrificial stones in the congregation's side churches were etched by the Venetian artists Angelo Putti, Jacopo Contieri, Francesco Rottman and Francesco Robba. The most exceptional sacrificial stone painting is The Death of St. Joseph Smrt sv. Jožefa by Franc Karl Remb.
