About Preseren Square
Preseren Square is the focal square in Ljubljana, the capital of Slovenia. It is a piece of the old town's passerby zone and a noteworthy gathering point, where celebrations, Ljubljana jubilee, shows, sports, political, and dissent occasions occur. It was redesigned in 2007.
It picked up its present appearance in the seventeenth century, when the elaborate style Franciscan Church of the Annunciation was manufactured and was first known as St. Mary's Square after the congregation. In the nineteenth century, the junction was changed into a square and cleared. After the 1895 Ljubljana tremor, designer Max Fabiani planned the square as the center point of four roads.
