About Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery

The Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery is a Buddhist sanctuary situated in Bishan, Singapore. Built by Zhuan Dao in the mid twentieth century to spread Buddhism and to give cabin to priests, this religious community is the biggest Buddhist sanctuary in Singapore. Between 1920 and 1921, the Phor Kark See Monastery was based on a plot of land in Thomson Road gave by Tay Woo Seng, a Chinese representatives. It was the principal customary Chinese woods religious community to be worked in Singapore.

Since Phor Kark See Monastery is arranged at Kong Meng San, it has come to be known as "Kong Meng San Phor Kark See Monastery".
