About Grand Mosque of Dakar
It is a standout amongst the most critical religious structures in the capital of Senegal. It is arranged on Allée Pape Gueye Fall. Planned by French and Moroccan draftsmen, The Grand Mosque was opened in 1964 by Hassan II, King of Morocco and Senegalese President Léopold Sédar Senghor. Luxuriously improved on the inside and outside, it is elaborately like the Mosquée Mohammed V in Casablanca.
Its minaret ascends to 67 meters. Made in 1964 and arranged in the enceinte of the Grand Mosque, the Institut islamique is an open foundation under the course of the Senegalese Minister of Education, devoted to Islamic research and instructing.
