About Abbaye de Keur Moussa
It is also known as basically Keur Mousa, close Dakar, the capital city of the Western African country of Senegal, it is a Benedictine religious community of the Solesmes Congregation. Established in 1961 by French priests, the religious community turned into a nunnery in 1984. Starting at 2000 the religious community was home to 26 priests under the authority of Abbot Fr Philippe Champetier de Ribes Christofle.
Chronicles done by Sacred Spirit Music show the priests playing the kora harp and singing, and have achieved Western gatherings of people. Their music mixes African rhythms and instruments with Western formal serenade.
