About Al Ula
Al-Ula is a city exactly 110 km southwest of Tayma 300 km north of Medina in north-western Saudi Arabia. Al-Ula was verifiably situated on the Incense course. It was the capital of the old Lihyanites. Al-Ula has the principal UNESCO World Heritage Site of the Saudi Kingdom, called Madain Saleh. It was constructed over 2,000 years prior by the Nabataeans. Al-Ula, the walled city, is stuffed with mud-block and stone houses.
The walled city of Al Ula was established in sixth century BC, a desert spring in the desert valley, with ripe soil and a lot of water. It was situated along "Incense Road," the system of courses that encouraged the exchanging of flavors, silk and other extravagance things through Arabia, Egypt and India. Al Ula remains on the site of the scriptural city of Dedan, yet was established with the antiquated North Arabian Kingdom of Lihyan, which ruled from the fifth to second century BC.
