About Zadonsk
Zadonsk is a town and the regulatory focal point of Zadonsky District in Lipetsk Oblast, Russia, situated on the left bank of the Don River, from which it takes its name, 92 kilometers southwest of Lipetsk, the managerial focal point of the oblast. It began in 1615 as a settlement close to the dividers of the Zadonsky truly, "over-the-Don" cloister, established in 1610 by a few priests from the Sretensky Monastery in Moscow. The nunnery wound up renowned during the 1770s, when a supernatural occurrence working starets Tikhon settled there.
