About Vikhorevka
Vikhorevka is a town in Bratsky District of Irkutsk Oblast, Russia, situated on the left bank of the Vikhorevka River, 916 kilometers northwest of Irkutsk, the managerial focal point of the oblast, and 46 kilometers southwest of Bratsk. It was established in 19575 as a specialists' settlement because of the development of the western area of the Baikal– Amur Mainline among Tayshet and Bratsk. The waterway, the railroad station, and the town were named after Vikhor Savin, a Strelets sotnik who was executed here by the Tungus individuals in 1630.
It was conceded town status in 1966. The Evenks or Aiwenji are a Tungusic people of Northern Asia. In Russia, the Evenks are perceived as one of the indigenous people groups of the Russian North, with a populace of 38,396. Within the system of regulatory divisions, Vikhorevka is subordinated to Bratsky District. As a city division, the town of Vikhorevka is joined inside Bratsky Municipal District as Vikhorevskoye Urban Settlement.
