About Svetogorsk
Svetogorsk is a modern town in Vyborgsky District of Leningrad Oblast, Russia, situated on the Karelian Isthmus, on the Vuoksa River. It is found 1 kilometer from the Finnish– Russian fringe, 5 kilometers from the Finnish town of Imatra, and 207 kilometers from St. Petersburg. Inside the system of managerial divisions, it is, as one with the urban-type settlement of Lesogorsky and two country regions, joined inside Vyborgsky District as Svetogorskoye Settlement Municipal Formation. As a city division, Svetogorskoye Settlement Municipal Formation is consolidated inside Vyborgsky Municipal District as Svetogorskoye Urban Settlement.
OAO Svetogorsk, one of the greatest paper processes in Russia, is the significant manager. Covering 2 square kilometers, OAO Svetogorsk produces mash, printing paper, and bundling board. Its brands incorporate Svetocopy and Ballet office paper. The Imatra– Svetogorsk fringe crossing assumes a key job in the transportation of timber among Russia and Finland. Likewise, around 150 workers drive every day from Imatra to the paper plants. The fringe crossing, which had impermanent status, was an incessant reason for bottlenecks because of long traditions checks and lacking offices.
