About Susuman
Susuman is a town and the managerial focal point of Susumansky District in Magadan Oblast, Russia, situated on the Berelyokh River, 650 kilometers northwest of Magadan, the regulatory focus of the oblast. The town lies in the Kolyma area close where the Susuman River joins the Berelyokh. The town sits on the M56 Kolyma Highway, an unlocked track frequently known as the "Street of Bones", which interfaces Yakutsk with Magadan.
It was established in 1936 as a settlement of a sovkhoz called Susuman, named after the close-by waterway of a similar name. In 1938, the settlement was significantly extended to wind up a focal point of gold mining in the western piece of what is currently Magadan Oblast under the control of Dalstroy.
Gold mining and other mechanical activities in the locale were to a great extent dependent on remedial work camps of the Gulag framework, with a huge number working in Susuman's region. As a civil division, the town of Susuman is joined inside Susumansky Municipal District as Susuman Urban Settlement. The town's economy depends for the most part on its status as one of the focuses of gold mining in the Kolyma district. You can visit this place with your friends and loved ones.
