About Sokol
Sokol is a town in the focal point of Vologda Oblast, Russia, situated on the two banks of the Sukhona River. The town of Sokolovo existed on this area since in any event 1615. Since 1796, the town was a piece of Kadnikovsky Uyezd of Vologda Governorate. In 1897, a paper process was worked close to the town and Sokolovo turned into the essential place of living arrangement of the representatives of the mill.
In November 1923, the Vologda Executive Committee proclaimed to make Sverdlovsko-Sukhonsky District with the regulatory focus in the settlement of Sokol; be that as it may, the choice was not affirmed by the focal experts, and the area was never created. On July 15, 1929, the uyezds were abrogated, the governorates converged into Northern Krai, and Sverdlovsky District with the managerial focus in the work settlement of Sokol was built up among others.
It turned into a piece of Vologda Okrug of Northern Krai. In 1932, Sokol was conceded town status, and the area was renamed Sokolsky. Inside the system of authoritative divisions, Sokol fills in as the managerial focus of Sokolsky District, despite the fact that it's anything but a piece of it. As a regulatory division, it is fused independently as the town of oblast noteworthiness of Sokol, an authoritative unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts.
