About Shimanovsk
Shimanovsk is a town in Amur Oblast, Russia, situated on the Bolshaya Pyora River, 250 kilometers northwest of Blagoveshchensk. It was established related to the development of the Amur railroad in 1910, initially named Pyora after the waterway on which it stands. It was renamed Gondatti in 1914 out of appreciation for the then-legislative head of Amur Oblast, Nikolay Gondatti. In 1920, it was renamed Vladimiro-Shimanovsky after Vladimir Shimanovsky, a railroad specialist and individual from the Red Army who was shot dead in Blagoveshchensk amid the Russian Civil War.
It was allowed town status and its name abbreviated to Shimanovsk in 1950. During the development of the Baikal Amur Mainline during the 1970s, Shimanovsk saw new development as a middle for generation of development materials. Within the structure of authoritative divisions, Shimanovsk fills in as the managerial focal point of Shimanovsky District, even however it's anything but a piece of it. As a regulatory division, it is joined independently as Shimanovsk Urban Okrug an authoritative unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts.
