About Samara embankment
The Samarans have a maxim: "The Volga bank is a valuable edge of the city." The dike is one of the postcards of Samara, a most loved get-away spot for the two local people and guests. Until the 1930s, the Volga drift stayed disrupted, there were distribution centers, stables, sawmills and other modern structures.
Arranging started in 1940, and today the dike comprises of four lines with an aggregate length of around five kilometers - from the River Station where, incidentally, you can purchase keepsakes from Samara to the Silicate Ravine. In 2011, a vast scale remaking of the dike started, which is required to be finished for the World Cup.
