Pochinok

Pochinok is a town and the authoritative focus of Pochinkovsky District in Smolensk Oblast, Russia, situated on the Khmara River 62 kilometers or 39 mi southeast of Smolensk, the regulatory focal point of the oblast. Pochinok has been referred to since 1811 as a town. It had a place with Yelninsky Uyezd of Smolensk Governorate. In 1926, it was allowed a town status. In October 1928, Yelninsky Uyezd was nullified and part between Smolensky, Roslavlsky, and Vyazemsky Uyezds. Pochinok was exchanged to Smolensky Uyezd.

Inside the system of authoritative divisions, Pochinok fills in as the managerial focal point of Pochinkovsky District. As a regulatory division, it is joined inside Pochinkovsky District as Pochinkovskoye Urban Settlement. As a city division, this managerial unit additionally has urban settlement status and is a piece of Pochinkovsky Municipal District.
