Opochka

Opochka is a metropolis and the place of job of Opochetsky District in Pskov Oblast, Russia, positioned on the Velikaya River, 130 kilometers south of Pskov, the workplace of the oblast. It changed into founded in 1414. At the time, it turned into a fort subordinate to Pskov and protective it from the south. It protected elements of former Opochetsky and Sebezhsky Uyezds. On July 23, 1930, the okrugs had been also abolished and the districts have been immediately subordinated to the oblast. On January 29, 1935, the district turned into transferred to Kalinin Oblast, and on February five, Opochetsky District became part of Velikiye Luki Okrug of Kalinin Oblast, one of the okrugs abutting the kingdom barriers of the Soviet Union.
