About Mozdok
Mozdok is a town and the regulatory focal point of Mozdoksky District of the Republic of North Ossetia Alania, Russia, situated on the left shore of the Terek River, 92 kilometers north of the republic's capital Vladikavkaz. As of the 2010 Census, its populace was 38,768. It was built up in 1763 as a Russian fortress at the site of a Kabardian town established four years sooner, settling the groups of the Volga Cossacks in stanitsas around it. Hundreds of Kabardians pursued, escaping their medieval masters from the neighboring regions into the Russian region.
In 1764, the Kabardian pioneers' demand to the Russian government that the post be decimated went unanswered. In the years that pursued, the Kabardians attempted to blockade the town, however they were in the end constrained to withdraw. With the establishment of Mozdok, Russian specialists supported Ossetians, Georgians, Armenians, and different Christians to populate the town.
