About Motherland Calls
The Motherland Calls is the compositional focus of the landmark group "Saints of the Battle of Stalingrad" on Mamayev Kurgan in Volgograd, Russia. It was planned by stone worker Yevgeny Vuchetich and basic specialist Nikolai Nikitin, and pronounced the tallest statue on the planet in 1967. It is the tallest statue in Europe and the tallest statue barring platform of a lady on the planet. Crafted by stone carver Yevgeny Vuchetich and specialist Nikolai Nikitin is a 85 meter figure of a lady venturing forward with a raised sword. The statue is a metaphorical picture of the Motherland, which approaches its children and little girls to shock the foe and proceed with their further assault.
The development of the landmark was begun in May 1959 and finished on 15 October 1967. It was the tallest model on the planet at the season of creation.
