About Monument to Chocolate
The Monument to Chocolate, regularly known as Chocolate Fairy, is a monument in the town of Pokrov, Vladimir Oblast, Russia. A bronze statue was made in 2009 and is known as the primary monument to chocolate in the world. The monument is formed as a chocolate bar, and speaks to a figure of an enchantment fairy holding a chocolate in her hands. The monument was divulged on 1 July 2009, not a long way from the Pokrov Museum of Chocolate.
The monument was given to the town by Kraft Foods to stamp the 15th commemoration of the organization's task in Russia. Kraft Foods' chocolate factory is notable as a maker of chocolate under the brands Alpen Gold, Milka, and Vozdushny, is the spine endeavor of Pokrov. 20 sculptors from the urban communities of Vladimir and St. Petersburg partook in the opposition for the best plan of the monument.
The undertaking to make the principal monument to chocolate was granted to Ilya Shanin, a skilled Vladimir sculptor and victor of the European sand sculptors' title whose works were shown in the urban communities of Germany, Austria and Belgium. It took him 18 months to finish the sculpture.The monument is 3 meters 9.8 ft tall and weighs 600 kg 1,300 lb. A legend related with the statue says that on the off chance that one makes a desire and rubs the chocolate tile in the Fairy's hand, his/her life will be better.
