About Mirozhsky Monastery
Mirozhsky Monastery is a 12th-century Russian Orthodox monastery complicated in Pskov, Russia, famous for its frescoes, located in the Christ's Transfiguration Cathedral. The name of the monastery is derived from the name of the Mirozha River, because the monastery is located at the area wherein the Mirozha joins the Velikaya River, on the left financial institution of the Velikaya. The catholicon of the monastery is one of the pre-Mongol homes which survived in Pskov, and contains the frescoes of the 12th century.
The exact date of the founding of the monastery is not recognized. Traditionally, it is considered to be the mid-12th century and is associated with the name of Nifont, Bishop of Novgorod.Veliky Novgorod,additionally known as Novgorod the Great, or Novgorod Veliky, or just Novgorod, is one of the most important ancient towns in Russia,which serves because the place of work of Novgorod Oblast. It is situated on the M10 federal dual carriageway connecting Moscow and St. Petersburg. The town lies alongside the Volkhov River just downstream from its outflow from Lake Ilmen.
