About Minusinsk
Minusinsk is a verifiable town in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia. The Russian settlement of Minyusinskoye was established in 1739-1740 at the intersection of the Minusa River with the Yenisei. The Turkic Min Usa signifies "my brook", or "thousand rivers". The name changed to Minusinskoye in 1810. By 1822, Minusinsk had developed as a provincial focus of cultivating and travel exchange and was conceded town status. During the 19th century, it was a hub of social exercises for a substantial region. The Martyanov Natural History Museum was opened there in 1877. It is still extremely dynamic and distributes a very helpful yearly report of its logical discoveries, gatherings, and so forth.
The town was additionally a position of political outcast. George Kennan wrote in his exceptionally powerful book Siberia and the Exile System of the town and the historical center being a scholarly shelter for those tsarist political activists and progressives who had been ousted from European Russia during the 1880s. Vladimir Lenin used to visit Minusinsk on various events when he was in a state of banishment in the adjacent town of Shushenskoye somewhere in the range of 1897 and 1900.
