About Marks
Marks, likewise spelled Marx, named after Karl Marx, is a town in Saratov Oblast, Russia, found 60 kilometers upper east of Saratov, the regulatory focus of the oblast. It was established in 1767 as a Volga German people group called Baronsk. It was before long renamed Yekaterinenshtadt, after Catherine the Great. In 1918, it was allowed town status and in 1920 it was renamed Marksshtadt, after Karl Marx. In 1941, amid the resettlement of Germans, the town was given its present name.
Inside the system of managerial divisions, Marks fills in as the regulatory focus of Marksovsky District, despite the fact that it's anything but a piece of it. As an authoritative division, it is consolidated independently as Marks Town Under Oblast Jurisdiction, a managerial unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts. As a city division, Marks Town Under Oblast Jurisdiction is joined inside Marksovsky Municipal District as Marks Urban Settlement.
