About Lesosibirsk
Lesosibirsk is a town in Krasnoyarsk Krai, Russia, situated on the Yenisei River. The town of Maklakov Lug, later known as Maklakovo existed on the region of current Lesosibirsk since 1640. In the mid 20th century, Norwegian industrialist Jonas Lied built up a wood preparing plant here. The plant was nationalized after the transformation. After World War II, vast wood-handling plants were fabricated here. The Achinsk Maklakovo railroad associated the region with the Siberian Railway. Two new settlements, Novomaklakovo and Novoyeniseysk were worked in the zone.
On February 21, 1975, the settlements of Maklakovo and Novomaklakovo were converged into the new town of Lesosibirsk. The settlement of Novoyeniseysk was converged into Lesosibirsk in 1989. Within the structure of authoritative divisions, it is, as one with the urban-type settlement of Strelka and one rustic locality, incorporated as the krai town of Lesosibirsk a managerial unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts. As a civil division, the krai town of Lesosibirsk is consolidated as Lesosibirsk Urban Okrug.
