About Lesnoy
Lesnoy is a town in Sverdlovsk Oblast, Russia, found 254 kilometers north of Yekaterinburg on the banks of the Tura River. It was established in 1947 when Plant 418 was built to deliver very advanced uranium HEU for the creation of atomic weapons. Nuclear weapons were additionally collected there. In 1954, it turned into the shut town of Sverdlovsk-45 to help generation of atomic weapons.
Sverdlovsk-45 stayed mystery until President Boris Yeltsin announced in 1992 that such places could utilize their verifiable names; the town had not showed up on authority maps up to that point. Inside the structure of the managerial divisions, it is, as one with one work settlement and three provincial regions, fused as the shut regulatory regional development of Lesnoy —an authoritative unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts. As a city division, the shut authoritative regional arrangement of Lesnoy is fused as Lesnoy Urban Okrug.
