Lake Iset
About Lake Iset
Lake Iset is a sweet water lake in Sverdlovsk Oblast, 25 km north-west from the city of Yekaterinburg, on the shore of the lake stands the city Sredneuralsk. It has a territory of around 24 km2. Into the lake numerous waterways and streams stream, Shitovskoy source, Big Black, Kalynivka, Beryozovka Lebyazhka and Mulyanka. One pursues the Iset River. The lake is encompassed by mountains. A few little islands: Solovetsky reds as a result of its shape was some time ago called "Top of Monomakh", Stone earlier called "The Ship". At the lakeshore settlements: Sredneuralsk city, town Iset, towns and Koptyaki Murzinka.
Iset lake is wealthy in fish, including rudd, bream, tench, ruff, roost and pike. Acclimatized species, for example, carp and mirror carp. In 1850 in the mouth of the stream Iset started development of an earthen dam. Just in 1946 was supplanted by an earthen dam on the solid. Because of this, the lake level rose to the current dimension. The lake water is utilized in Sredneuralskaya. On the shores of the lake, archeologists discovered in excess of twelve destinations of antiquated individuals, dating from the Neolithic to the Iron Age. On one of the islands was discovered kept ocher old pictures, yet with the ascent of the lake level they were overflowed.
