About Krasnoarmeysk
Krasnoarmeysk is a town in Saratov Oblast, Russia, found 75 kilometers south of Saratov, the regulatory focus of the oblast. It was established in 1764—1766 as the German province of Baltser; the last name of one of the settlers. The other name of the state was Goly Karamysh, after the waterway on which it was located. The "Karamysh" part in the stream's name implies sloppy, silty, smudgy, while the "Goly" part insinuates the steppes and the absence of woodlands in the territory; cf. Lesnoy Karamysh River. In the mid-19th century, the twofold name of Goly Karamysh was authoritatively utilized, yet it was abbreviated to only Baltser in 1926.
Town status was allowed in 1918. During World War II, the locale was rinsed of German geographic names, with Baltser renamed Krasnoarmeysk in 1942. Inside the system of regulatory divisions, Krasnoarmeysk fills in as the managerial focal point of Krasnoarmeysky District, despite the fact that it's anything but a piece of it. As an authoritative division, it is joined independently as Krasnoarmeysk Town Under Oblast Jurisdiction, a regulatory unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts. As a city division, Krasnoarmeysk Town Under Oblast Jurisdiction is fused inside Krasnoarmeysky Municipal District as Krasnoarmeysk Urban Settlement.
