About Kotelnikovo
Kotelnikovo is a town and the regulatory focus of Kotelnikovsky District in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, situated on the Kurmoyarsky Aksay River which streams into the Tsimlyansk Reservoir, 190 kilometers southwest of Volgograd, the managerial focal point of the oblast. It was established in 1897 as a settlement overhauling the development of a railroad station of a similar name opened 1899. During World War II, it filled in as a base for the German troops of Field Marshal Erich von Manstein amid the Battle of Stalingrad.
A Soviet counteroffensive freed Kotelnikovo on December 29, 1942. It was conceded town status in 1955. Inside the system of regulatory divisions, Kotelnikovo fills in as the managerial focal point of Kotelnikovsky District. As an authoritative division, it is fused inside Kotelnikovsky District as the town of region criticalness of Kotelnikovo. As a metropolitan division, the town of region noteworthiness of Kotelnikovo is joined inside Kotelnikovsky Municipal District as Kotelnikovskoye Urban Settlement.
