Kalach na Donu

Kalach na Donu, or Kalach-on-the-Don, is a town and the regulatory focus of Kalachyovsky District in Volgograd Oblast, Russia, situated on the Don River, 72 kilometers west of Volgograd, the authoritative focal point of the oblast. It was established in 1708 as a Cossack sloboda and was initially called Kalach. The Don is one of the significant Eurasian streams of Russia and the 5th longest waterway in Europe.

The Don bowl is between the Dnieper bowl toward the west, the Volga bowl toward the east, and the Oka bowl toward the north. The Don ascends in the town of Novomoskovsk 60 kilometers southeast of Tula 120 km south of Moscow, and streams for a separation of around 1,870 kilometers to the Sea of Azov. From its source, the stream first streams southeast to Voronezh, at that point southwest to its mouth. The principle city on the waterway is Rostov on Don. Its fundamental tributary is the Seversky Donets.
