About Chebarkul
Chebarkul is a town in Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, situated on the shores of Lake Chebarkul, 78 kilometers west of Chelyabinsk, the authoritative focus of the oblast. The name of the town gets from the Bashkir/Tatar words signifying "a particolored lake". Founded in 1736 as a fortification on the outskirt among Russian and Bashkir lands, it later developed into a substantial Cossack stanitsa. The stronghold was established with the authorization of Bashkir Tarkhan Taymas Shaimov, who was the proprietor of these lands. Town status was conceded to it on October 25,1951.
In February 2013, a meteor detonated in earth's air and a piece of it fell into Lake Chebarkul causing a 6-meter wide opening in the ice covering the lake.Within the system of regulatory divisions, Chebarkul fills in as the managerial focal point of Chebarkulsky District, despite the fact that it's anything but a piece of it. As an authoritative division, it is joined independently as the Town of Chebarkul a regulatory unit with the status equivalent to that of the districts. As a city division, the Town of Chebarkul is consolidated as Chebarkulsky Urban Okrug.
