About Barguzinsky Nature Reserve
Barguzinsky Nature Reserve is the most seasoned of zapovedniks nature reserves. It is situated in Buryatia Russia on the west slant of the Barguzin Range, including the upper east shores of the Lake Baikal and a piece of the lake itself. The name of the preserve and the range originates from the Barguzin River. The region of the reserve is 2,482 km² 958 sq mi. It was made in 1916 to preserve and increment the quantities of Barguzin Sable Martes zibellina.
Hilly and taiga scenes are additionally being preserved. The Barguzin Nature Reserve is occupied by elks, musk deer known as kabarga, darker bears, Black-topped Marmots, grouse, and so forth. Omuls, sigs, sturgeons, graylings, taimens, lenoks and other fish bring forth in the waterways of the reserve. Its length is 280 km, tallness up to 2,840 m. It is for the most part secured by larch taiga. The range limits the Barguzin Valley on the northwest. A piece of the Barguzin Nature Reserve is situated on the western inclines of the range.
