About Bakal
Bakal is a town in Satkinsky District of Chelyabinsk Oblast, Russia, situated on the western inclines of the Ural Mountains on the Chelyabinsk Ufa railroad branch, 264 kilometers west from Chelyabinsk, the managerial focal point of the oblast. It was established in 1757 as a settlement of serfs resettled to man new Bakal press metal mines possessed by the relationship of Ivan and Yakov Tverdyshev and Ivan Myasnikov. Amid 1941-1943, a gulag work camp existed in the region known as Bakal ITL, Bakallag or Bakalstroy of NKVD, with home office in Chelyabinsk.
Its fundamental occupations were the development of a metallurgic, coke, and different plants, logging, and mining. Its pinnacle detainee check was around 4,200. Furthermore, Bakalstroy was kept an eye on by Germans. Town status was allowed to Bakal on October 25, 1951. Within the system of managerial divisions, it is, as one with four country areas, consolidated inside Satkinsky District as the Town of Bakal. As a metropolitan division, the Town of Bakal is fused inside Satkinsky Municipal District as Bakalskoye Urban Settlement.
