Anichkov Bridge

The Anichkov Bridge is the most established and most renowned scaffold over the Fontanka River in Saint Petersburg, Russia. The present scaffold, worked in 1841-42 and remade in 1906-08, joins a basic shape with some stupendous embellishments. And also its four renowned pony figures 1849– 50, the scaffold has the absolute most praised resplendent iron railings in Saint Petersburg. The structure is specified in progress of Pushkin, Gogol, and Dostoevsky.

The main scaffold was worked in 1715-16 by request of Peter the Great, and named after its specialist, Mikhail Anichkov. The extension was made of wood with a few traverses based on heaps of backings lying simply over the Fontanka River. It was outlined by Domenico Trezzini. Nothing stays of this first scaffold. As the city developed and the waterway activity expanded, plans were revealed in 1721 to make another drawbridge.

The Anichkov Bridge was one of seven three-traverse stone draw bridges with towers worked over the Fontanka River in the late eighteenth century, of which the Lomonosov Bridge and the Stary Kalinkin Bridge are the two still surviving. Around then, the Anichkov Bridge was a particularly mainstream fascination on Nevsky Prospekt, and additionally a famous subject for delineations and sketches.
