Zarand

Zarand is a commune in Arad County, Romania. It lies over about 7600 hectares on the Crișurilor Plateau, on the confluence of the Cigher and Crișul Alb rivers. It is composed of villages, Cintei and Zarand. According to the final census the populace of the commune counts 2674 inhabitants, out of which ninety,nine percent are Romanians, zero,2 percent Hungarians, eight,5 percent Roma and zero,four percent are of other or und nationalities.

The first documentary document of Zarand dates returned to 1318, while Cintei was first noted in 1396.
