Valea Dragului

Valea Dragului is a commune in Giurgiu County , Muntenia , Romania , formed handiest from the house of the equal name. At the quit of the nineteenth century, the commune changed into part of the Negoeşti net of Ilfov County and it consisted of the villages of Ciocoveni, Ghimpaţi and Valea Dragului, with a population of 1926 population. There was a water mill, two churches and a mixed faculty. The Socec Yearbook of 1925 facts the commune inside the Vidra net of the same county, with the equal composition and 2354 population.

In 1950, the commune changed into assigned to the Vidra district after which after 1952 to the Oltenita rayon in Bucharest . In 1968, the commune again to Ilfov County , re-set up, and the villages of Ciocoveni and Ghimpati, merged with Valea Dragului village, had been additionally abolished. In 1981, a regional administrative reorganization caused the switch of the commune to Giurgiu County.
