About Topana
Topana is a commune within the county of Olt, Muntenia, Romania, consisting of the villages Candelesti, Cioraca, Cojgarei, Topana and Ungureni. Topana is a part of the Muntenia regions which have been inhabited by means of the Dacians. In the Cioraca valley, sixty one tombs have been observed dating from the second one half of the 3rd century. Documentary mentions approximately Topana were made at the quit of the fifteenth century, respectively in the letters of the chancellor of the ruler Radu cel Mare.
It issued, on July 13, 1499, a letter in which is referred to "Driumul Topana going to Pitesti". In turn, Radu from Afumati, through the letters of April 4, 1523 and February nine, 1524, renews the proper of ownership of the Arges monastery over the village of Topana. Topana village, like other surrounding villages, remained in monastery ownership until the secularization at some point of the reign of Alexandru Lohan Cuza. Topana's street changed into crossed via the pendants of Tudor Vladimirescu, in 1821. The inhabitants acquired the event and kept it inside the folklore creations.
