Teremia Mare

Teremia Mare is a municipality in the west of the Timiş County, inside the Banat place, within the southwest of Romania, on the border with Serbia. The municipality Teremia Mare includes the villages Teremia Mica and Nerau. The village became first referred to in 1257 below the call Villa Therimthelwk. In 1717 the location seems below the name Deremia.

On the predicate Teremi have been among 1769 and 1771 with Albrechtsflor and Marienfeld two German groups created by the at that time nonetheless performing as a subalterner authentic Carl Samuel Neumann Edler von Buchholt. 1769-1770, the Roman Catholic Church and the school were constructed. The German settlers came from Westphalia, Lorraine and Alsace. There have been in most cases winemakers. They introduced the art of viticulture from their ancestral homeland. The German settlers gave the place the call Marienfeld. On June four, 1920, the Banat was divided into 3 components as a result of the Treaty of Trianon. The largest, eastern part, to which additionally Marienfeld belonged, fell to Romania.
